Hi Everyone,
This is going to be a bit of a shorter post from me today but this is something that I have come to feel genuinely passionate about over the last 12 months and we are now approaching the time of year where we can have such a critical impact on those around us.
Christmas is coming up! And the world is still going crazy with COVID whilst also being in a recession. Especially here in the UK where I feel a second lockdown is imminent. Many businesses are struggling financially with government support seeming to be reducing. The economy and small business can only survive if we support them.
Several CEO’s of larger chains have already pleaded that people start their Christmas shopping earlier this year rather than waiting until December because spreading out the sales could means the survival of a lot of companies, that may not be able to make it til December.
Those who know me personally will know that I have already started my Christmas shopping and I do so every year because I hate leaving things last minute. So for the next week I will be sending you a list of all my favourite small businesses based on one I have personally used or that I know the creator behind the product.
My aim is to give you ideas of gifts, things you can make yourself to gift or something you can add to your own Christmas list.
But really this post isn’t just about Christmas but really a plea to help support small businesses over the next 6 months… but your coffee from an independent coffee shop, go to the butcher to get the steak for your date night, do your research about where bigger companies bank and pay taxes ( eg Amazon), support your friends and family with their business.
