On Sunday I promised some insight into the whole #100daygoal activity.
Julia Bickerstaff from The Business Bakery runs a yearly event called 100 Day Goal. She created the movement in order to spend 100 days a year focuses on a particular project/mission to develope her business. Then she invited others to join her. People use the event for all sorts of reasons…personal and business.
I saw a post on Pintrest that mentioned it and it turned out that the next event was due to start a week later so I signed up. I realised that with a toddler, new job, 3 hour commuting each day and general everyday life meant that I wasn’t doing the thing I really wanted to do which was develope my own business.
So I signed up.
Step one after signing up is to read the workbook and decide a goal.

Step two. List at least 120 microactions. The idea behind the microactions is that you can do at least one everyday that will help you reach your goal. My actions range from tidying my work space, blogging three times a week, interact with other crafters and bloggers, cut out fabric for specific projects, to bigger items, such as, attend a craft fair as a trader.
When September 1st hit I was almost ready to begin although my microactions list only had 55 items. I decided I would find more as time passed as some of my microactions would likely need microactions of their own. I wasn’t wrong…I’m now up to 102 microactions having completed 11.
Step three. Everyday write a list of all the microactions you completed, the progress you made towards your measure able goal that day eg. How many sales/new customers/blog followers etc and the progress you have made throughout the event.
Some of the biggest microactions I have completed to date are:
1. Designed and published my logo

2. Signed up for two Christmas Craft Fairs (more on these in a later post)
3. Getting to know other driven people and watching how they develop.
It’s not too late to join the action….a lot of people didn’t start until Monday due to the school holidays. I will be posting about my progress throughout the next 100 days.
What are you goals and how are you handling them?
