2020 Goals: August Progress

This month has seen a lot of progress towards my goals and I am hoping that September will continue to do so as well. The COVID pandemic has so far been extremely kind to me and I hope to continue to maximise my efforts towards making the most of it.

This month I have made progress towards 12 of my 20 goals.

I am a little disappointed that I did not make more progress towards the exercise goals but it is something I am going to aim to fit in now Xander is back in school. I need to find that routine in my lunch times of either going for a walk or doing my weights routine. I was however really pleased that I managed to get in two sea swims over the bank holiday weekend. Over 30 minutes in the water each and now my legs are still recovering from it. It feels great though.

Whilst Xander was visiting my mum, Emily and I took the opportunity to clear some games off our shelf of shame. We still have a lot more to go between now and Christmas but I am looking forward to Sunday afternoons being about family board games which I can then do a proper review of for you all.

By far my biggest achievement this month was to write a blog post 3 times a week for an entire month. I need to get better at preparing these in advance but momentum is the most important thing here and I have plenty of blog titles prepared. I just need to focus on getting them written. This goal will be highlighted as achieved during September. Hopefully that will give me the push to get more facebook and instagram posts sorted out.

This one was extremely minor as it was only £1 that I added as an addition to a purchase I made using paypal. It is a really easy way to give and i will always click yes if given the option.

Again whilst Xander was away I was able to spend a chunk of a day playing Dragon Age 3. I even managed to kill 2 dragons. I really enjoy the game and I am wanting to do some more of this in the evenings if I am not feeling up to sewing. In addition to this Emily and I also resumed our Diablo 3 game. Something that we should also do in the evenings at weekends where it is not necessary for me to be up quite so early.

I have had a lot of time to sew this month due to holidays and Xander being away but I still have so much more to do to complete projects. I am looking forward to utilising the rest of my blocks so i can create a lot more projects to put into the shop.

Again, only something small here but I know I will make progress on this as we approach Christmas. This will fill in much more quickly when I have made my #purplerak parcels this week.

I made a journal to record our camping and Longleat holiday out of the cardborad wrapping of Yeo Valley yoghurt pots. I have all the photos printed and have gathered the bits I need. I just need to fill out the journal and record a flipthrough.

And here is the crowning joy. This month I have completed a bunch of UFO’s (I think some were done at the end of July) and it is giving me so much motivation to complete my Panda Charm is being hand quilted regularly and my Downton Round we go is so close to being a completed top. This month is going to see some additional projects added to the list but also more will be added to the completed list.

Making small progress this month has actually been really encouraging and has really helped me focus my activities so that I don’t forget what I can do with the little time I have. September is going to continue to be the same with the plans I have in mind.

What progress have you made towards your goals this month? If you don’t have goals, what were your significant achievements?

See you on Thursday
