I learnt this pattern at the Simply Solids retreat in 2018 (I think… it could have been 2017!) where I got to meet the fabulous Jenny Jackson of @hashtagsew fame. Jenny has since become a designer and presenter of Sewing Quarter and recently moved to Hochanda.
When I met Jenny she was still at the beginning of her journey and this quilt top has inspired me to create a million different colourways I would like to attempt. The pattern is called Wagon Wheel and it is an english paper piecing design. The blocks were extremely quick to make up and the pattern comes with the colouring sheets to enable you to go crazy with secondary patterns. I think there are a lot of opportunities to play with fussy cutting on this one as well.

This one is only a small baby quilt that was gifted to a friend for her second daughter born over lockdown. The fabric was a fat quarter bundle that I picked up in Hobbycraft because I couldn’t resist the colour pallete. I then had to source the border fabric from elsewhere because this was a discontinued range that I found rather late in its life cycle.

Have you had the pleasure of learning from someone just beginning their career in the creative world?
See you on Tuesday
